Today I’m sharing the love and getting behind a super cool project in the hope that maybe it might inspire your crafty soul to jump on board too. I’m talking about the Softies For Mirabel Project, run by the ever inspiring Pip Lincolne of Meet Me At Mikes. It’s essentially a handmade toy drive, and you can get involved by sewing, knitting or crocheting a soft toy which will be given to a child currently under the care of the Mirabel Foundation.
The Mirabel Foundation provides support for children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to parental drug use and are now in the care of extended family. Their mission is to break the destructive cycle of addiction through restoring a child’s sense of self worth, belonging and hope for their future. A charity after my own heart. When I worked as a Registered Nurse in the Special Care Nursery I often cared for babies who were effected by maternal drug use and always wondered what would become of their lives, what would the future hold for these babies and families in crisis??
So spread the word lovelies and lets get crafting. Check out all the details along with the address of where you can send your handmade softies below.
