Who isn’t loving Kmart’s Homewares range right now! From lamps and rugs to pots, vases and storage, they’re got some really cool products for really low prices! Last week I gave my workspace a little update with the Kmart pegboards. An absolute bargain for just $29 each and super versatile and stylish. I tried my pegboards in about four different spaces before finally deciding to keep them in my workspace. They looked great next to the boys desk, in the boys rooms and also in the playroom too.
I placed my pegboards side by side and played around with the shelving heights depending on the object size I wanted to add. Here I’ve just styled them with bits and pieces I already had plus a new print from Hark Home.
Today I’m sharing a little more of my home with you by revealing a few snapshots of my workspace. This is where I blog, sew, craft and dream. As you’ll see I’m a bit of an everything in it’s place kind of girl, it clears my mind and keeps me focused. It’s in blog mode at the moment but once I get crafting my desk gets loaded up with my sewing machine and fabrics. Before our renovation this room was used as a formal lounge but when we enclosed part of our back deck and created a new dinning room this room became free to become my creative space.
My desk which is a actually a six seater farmhouse table, floats in the centre of the room. I love the draws on either side, they’re perfect for stationary. We had originally intended to use it as our dining table but it was far too small in the space. This is the table which used to be bright yellow, you can read about it’s makeover with chalk paint here.
Tucked around the outside of my desk is a Phillip Stark Ghost chair, and the two timber chairs I salvaged from the roadside and made over. My Armadillo & Co Marigold Rug is my favourite piece. It was a big splurge but it’s so worth it.
On the wall behind my desk you’ll find my inspiration pics, a collection of magazine pages stuck to the wall with washi tape. It’s constantly changing depending on what projects I’m working on. I’m currently collecting inspiration for my bathrooms.
Adjacent to my desk is our custom built library, it runs the length of the room. It has loads of storage for craft supplies, paper work, gift wrap, school year books, stationary and the printer. It looks a little on the bare side at the moment but that’s because it’s a work in progress. I can’t ever completely decorate a room in one go, I enjoy creating layers and try to only buy things I love, this is my new mantra in my quest to overcome a chronic history of buyers remorse.
